What 750 means
18 out of 24 parts are 75%, hence the 750 marking. Compared to 14K gold, every gram of 18K jewellery contains more pure gold, and therefore its theoretical value per gram is higher.
18K gold is slightly softer and less resistant to scratches, which is why old jewellery of this type sometimes arrives worn. Wear reduces weight but not purity.
Calculation example
18K ring weighing 6 grams with a diamond and small settings. Assume the stones weigh 0.3 grams together. Net weight: 5.7 grams. Pure gold: 5.7 multiplied by 0.75 = 4.275 grams.
This amount is multiplied by the current reference price. No price is fixed here — the calculator retrieves it in real time and also displays the source of the data.
- 6 − 0.3 = 5.7 grams net
- 5.7 × 0.75 = 4.275 grams pure
- Theoretical value ≠ actual payment
Settings and stones
18K jewellery often has significant stones. Stones are deducted from the weight, and if you want to keep a stone, you should mention it before the inspection. Removing a stone requires careful work.
The value of precious stones is not part of the gold calculation. If you have a stone that you think is valuable, you should examine it separately.
From estimate to offer
Select "18 Karat · 750" in the calculator and enter weight and deduction. The pure gold price per gram is calculated based on XAU/USD divided by 31.1034768 multiplied by the USD/ILS exchange rate. Any price shown on the site is a non-binding estimate.
Attach photos of the hallmark and the settings to your offer request.
